Consistently with its mission, ALTEMS focuses its activities on the following areas:

  • ACCOUNTING
    Covers the main aspects of accounting and financial statements, budget analysis, and international accounting standards;
  • HEALTH ECONOMICS
    Provides an overview of both the problems faced by health economics, and the tools related to health technology assessment;
  • HEALTH POLICY & PLANNING
    Analyses the complexity of the NHS, with particular reference to the devolution of powers in health care;
  • LAW  
  • Focuses on the various legal disciplines that govern the healthcare industry, also analysing managerial aspects linked to legal services, contracts, financing and human resources;
  • OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
    Investigates modern methodologies used to design the functioning of facilities and equipment in health care structures, as well as key organisational and management tools for the implementation of an efficient supply chain;
  • ORGANISATION AND HUMAN RESOURCES MANAGEMENT
    Studies the main organisational and management tools to act effectively in human capital management as a distinguishing factor for an appropriate management of complex organisational structures;
  • PLANNING AND CONTROL
    Provides proper methodological and empirical frameworks to support managers both in strategic planning and in business controlling processes;
  • PRIMARY CARE MANAGEMENT
    Explores issues related to the management of health organisations when running medical practices and health services at the local level;
  • QUANTITATIVE
    Cross to the other disciplines, it uses the methods of statistics and econometrics in health care. In this sense, it provides the analytical tools useful for collecting and analyzing data through questionnaires, to synthesize the various phenomena of interest for descriptive purposes and to estimate significant relationships between them;
  • STRATEGIES AND INNOVATION 
    Analyses the main methods and techniques of evaluation adopted in the health care sector and the essential organisational skills necessary to adopt  appropriate strategic decisions.

 

Laboratories

  • HEALTH TECHNOLOGY ASSESSMENT LAB (in collaboration with "Policlinico Universitario "A. Gemelli")
    Explores the development of HTA methodologies and its applications to decision making.
