The focus on sustainability emerges as an essential aspect in a constantly evolving healthcare context.
Over the past years, healthcare organizations have been facing a constant pressure to evolve and become more sustainable. However, healthcare managers have always considered sustainability in its economic-financial meaning, neglecting or in some case giving little importance to the aspect of environmental sustainability.
In spite of this, adopting a holistic approach actively incorporating staff and financial resources, and promoting a long-term vision of environmental stewardship, is an essential strategy to build sustainable healthcare organizations.
This tangible commitment to involve and train employees, using sustainable technology and planning adequately organizations is critical to create a healthcare system that not only protects people's health but also preserves the environment in which we live, with the final aim of establishing and sustaining a long-term healthcare system that contributes to societal well-being.
The questions that arises is: how the organization should become more sustainable ? What action, program should be implemented to reach environmental sustainability? What is the role of the top management?
Thanks to a unique panel of expert, on the 24th of November we will try to find answer to this and to other questions related to the environment sustainability of healthcare organizations.
